February 2022 AFK Booklet Examination Regulations Pertaining To COVID
NOTE: Each examination centre is required to comply with the guidelines and
legislation established by their municipal and provincial public health authorities
and governments. Please note that these may change from time to time.
Therefore, the measures may differ from exam centre to exam centre.
NOTE: Candidates who elect to take the NDEB®’s AFK™ in February 2022 will be in an
exam centre with other individuals. As such, and as is the case in any setting with
other individuals, there is a risk of contracting COVID- 19. Any candidates who
proceed to take the examinations in light of this risk are deemed to have assumed
that risk.
The rules below are introduced because of Covid-19 and supersede any contrary regulations published in the
examination protocol.
You may be required to wait outside the examination centre until directed to enter the registration
area. Admittance to the examination centre will be staggered; therefore, you are strongly advised to
dress appropriately for weather conditions.
• To ensure physical distancing, you must keep your distance from the person in front of you in the check-in
line outside, and when you are in the examination centre.
• You will be required to complete a standard screening questionnaire prior to entering the centre.
• If you do not pass the screening process, you will not be allowed to enter the examination room.
• You will be required to wear a surgical mask or face mask covering your mouth and nose at all times while
at the examination centre. Masks will be provided if you do not have one.
• You will be instructed to perform hand hygiene with a hand sanitizer before entering the building,
before entering the registration area and before entering the examination room.
• During both the morning and afternoon check-in you will be required remove your mask for
identification purposes.
• You will not be permitted to drink water in the examination room. You will have to take a washroom
break to drink water.
• You will not be permitted to use tissues in the examination room. You will have to take a washroom
break to use a tissue.
• You may be required to vacate the building as soon as you finish the morning examination and during
the mandatory lunch break. You may not be able to buy food on-site. Therefore, we recommend that
you plan your lunch in advance.
• Prior to the afternoon check-in, you may be required to wait outside until directed to enter the
registration area.
• You will be required to vacate the building as soon as you finish the afternoon examination.
• For your safety and for the safety of all others in the exam centre, you will be required to
follow all directional and other instructions of the invigilators proctoring the examination.
• To ensure the safety of everyone in the exam centre, all health and safety decisions made by
the invigilators will be a final decision.
• In the event that you become ill during the examination or during a break, depending upon the rules
of the test centre at which you are taking the examination, you may be required to leave the
examination without completing it. Any such determination will be at the discretion of the university
test centre.
