Performance in terms of programme, quality, safety and environmental ‘management is reviewed by the Section Agent at a daily stand-up meeting held at noon and attended by engineering, supervisory and Subcontractors’ staffs. The purpose of the meeting is to identify any deviation from the scheduled programme and to decide on the implementation of alternative measures as maybe required. 6.0 Construction Method 6.1. Site Preparation 1) All necessary Airport Restricted Area (ARA) vehicular and driving permits, worker’s permits shall be obtained prior to the mobilization of any vehicle and personnel to site. 2) Primary access to the airside works area for workers, materials and equipment would be via Gate House 3 or Gate House No 5. Large plant and equipment which could affect normal operational traffic must be transported at night (0001 to 0600). 6.2 Sequence of Works 6.2.1 Works Sequence 1) Set up line and level for excavation works 2) Placing of stabilized subgrade 3) Placing geotextile in accordance with the Particular Specification and drawings if existing geotexile is present at the top of the Type A or Type A/B material 4) Placing layer 1 (bottom) subgrade 5) Placing layer 2 subgrade 6) Placing layer 3 subgrade 7) Placing layer 4 (Upmost) subgradeFUITTASUN FOOK KONG JOINT VENTURE Contract Ne PSS2 Fulita Glo Title: Method Statement for Subgrade Compaction Trial Submission Reference No, : FSIV/PS32/T/0090) A 6.2.2 Placing of Subgrade 1) Prior laying subgrade material, the underlaying stabilized subgrade shall be shaped and compacted in accordance with the Particular Specification and drawings. 2) The material shall be placed over the full width of the excavated area to the required thickness as shown in drawings in 4 layers, each layer not exceeding 300mm compacted thickness. 6.2.3 Compaction of Subgrade 1) Ineach layer, the material shall be compacted by a 10/15 Ton vibrating roller, progressing gradually from one end to the other, with each succeeding pass uniformly overlapping the previous pass. (10 passes). 2) Each layer shall be completely compacted prior to placing the subsequent layer. 3) In order to determine the appropriate number of compaction passes, just after the testing for the ‘10 passes trial”, backfill the test pits and apply two more compaction passes to the upmost layer. Then carry out compaction test on the upmost layer for the ‘“12 passes trial”, 4) Finally, apply two more compaction passes to the upmost layer, then carry out compaction test on the upmost layer for the “14 passes trial”. 5) According to Drawing No. MJA/P260/C/N2/024901, the depth of compaction is 1200mm. The top 300mm of compaction to 98% Modified Proctor MDD. and the remaining depth of compaction to 95% Modified Proctor MDD. 7.0 Testing 1) After compaction, five (5) test pits shall be excavated in the trial area and the dry density shall be measured at 300mm intervals from ground level to a depth of 1200mm using BS1377: Part 9: 1990 method 2.3. The Safety Officer will explain the necessary safety requirements as identified in the Risk Assessments Record and the Section Agent / Engineer in charge of the work will explain the system of work to his supervisors and workers. Sufficient tool box talks will be provided during the course of work, with specific training in the hazards during welding works. b. All workers on site will obtain an approved Mandatory Basic Safety Training Certificate, ¢.
