 Case Study

You are required to go to any hospital, any private clinic look around your surrounding
and take a client with psychological problem. Build rapport with him\her and conduct
clinical interview. You will write a case study on the basis of responses of the interview
given by the client.

Presenting Complaint

Shabana is in trouble with paranoid schizophrenia. She feels that family member are going to
hurt her or feeling like being alone. Sometime she thought that all family members want to kill
her and some poisonous in food. Shabana telling that her behavior is frequently change and get
angrier and threatened. She hears voices like people, make fun and insulting her, and husband
make plains to kill her.

Family History

Shabana is living in Gilgit with all his family members. She has four brothers and three sisters,
after marriage she start living with her husband home. Husband family is joined including,
brother in law, sister in law, mother and father in law. She also has two baby boys and one
daughter.
Personal History

Shabana is loving nature lady and want to go picnic parties. She was interested in cooking, dress
designing and all other activities. Shabana is a good painter, she paints in school walls, making
charts and also participated in painting competition. Shabana is suffering from headache. After
marriage her life routine is badly disrupted because her in law’s don’t want that she jobs.
Shabana mother in law always teasing her and behave rudely.

Educational History

Shabana study in public school and college and she got the 3rd position in FA. Shabana complete
her BS sociology from Karakorum International University of Gilgit. Shabana is an intelligent
student she wants to study more but after marriage there are many hurdles in her way to do job or
completing studies.

Occupational History

After completing studies, she starts doing job in Al-Hayat school and also join tuition center to
teach students. She applying other department’s and school for job. After her struggle she is
appointed in government school as a teacher.

History of Present Illness

Shabana have paranoid schizophrenia from last three years. Before this she is a mentally fit lady
but some incident in her life change badly. Shabana, her husband and 1st son going to bazar but
unfortunately a truck is out of break and hit her car it is a big accident. By this she lost her son
and husband or shabana head is also injured. After that she suffering from paranoid
schizophrenia and living alone. Shabana are possessive about her daughter and son and she
thought that everyone wants to kill her.

Case Formu;ation

After completing the clinical interview, we know that shabana reason of paranoid disorder is the
accident in which she lost her husband and son this change the life of shabana badly. After the
accident her in laws don’t like shabana they thought that she is misfortune girl. She always feels
that everyone wants to hurt her and hearing voices like people insulting her and make plains to
kill them.
