1. Describe the major elements and issues with waterfall development.

The waterfall model is extremely uncomplicated. After completing one step, you proceed on to
the next. As a result, the next phases heavily rely on the previous phase's work. Failure of the software
can be caused by a single wrong move in a phase, making it hard for the client to know make revisions
and it is also difficult to determine which phase it occurred in.

2. Why do many projects end up having unreasonable deadlines? How should a project manager react
to unreasonable demands?

As a result of an unforeseen event, the manager's estimate of the deadline may no longer be
reasonable or when the project manager estimated the deadline based on their goal rather than looking
at it in a realistic way. As a manager, you should thoroughly examine the situation and determine which
of the requests can be satisfied. It is also up to him to explain why only some or none of the demands can
be satisfied.

3. Some companies hire consulting firms to develop the initial project plans and manage the project,
but use their own analysts and programmers to develop the system. Why do you think some companies
do this?

Some companies do this because out sourcing a project manager may be more beneficial for them
in terms of finances and having better skills and experience. Having a project manager that is not a part
of the company may also provide a better point of view and may assess the project more objectively
rather than an in-house employee would.

Case Study

Marcus Weber should add Barry Filmore to his project team, in my opinion. This is because
Filmore has more relevant contributions to the expert system project than Danville. Filmore has more
experience with individual and organizational behavior, which will aid end-users in adjusting to a new
work environment and increasing productivity and efficiency. Filmore is also skilled at anticipating
potential problems in the expert system project, which makes him a better contender.
