Battery Module Removal/Installation

NOTE:
• Put on insulated gloves and use insulated tools to protect you from electrical shock.
• IMA components are located in this area. The IMA is a high-voltage system. You must be
familiar with the IMA system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the
IMA service precautions before doing repairs or service .
• When removing or installing items marked with , never fail to use Insulated tools.

1. Remove the IPU case .

2. Remove the front duct (A).

3. Remove the harness clip (A).

4. Remove the clips (B) and the mid duct (C).

5. Disconnect the IPU harness connector (A), then remove the harness (B) from the IPU frame.

6. Remove the battery harness terminals (A) from the battery module.

7. Disconnect the battery module harness connector (B), and remove the harness (C) from the
battery module.

8. Remove the bolts (A, B) and the IPU frames (C). 9.4 N·m A

9. Remove the ground cable (D).

10. Remove the PCU assembly (A) from the battery module.

11. Remove the lower duct (A) from the battery module.

12. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. When you install the rear IPU frame to the
battery module, set the extension of the battery module switch (A) to the battery module
switch (B) as shown.

NOTE: If the IMA battery level gauge displays no level, start the engine, and hold the engine speed
between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm without load (CVT in P or N, M/T in neutral) until the level gauge
will display at least half charged level. A
13. If the battery module replacement, select the IMA SYSTEM on HDS, then select the
REPLACEMENT BATTERY MODULE, and follow the HDS prompts.
