Green Horizons
Green Horizons is a cultural exchange and mobility managing agent, aiming to promote the use of the English language
and mobility training. Since 2005 Green Horizons has worked on a number of EU funded projects and gained a wealth
of experience in this area. Within the framework of the Life Long Learning Programme we act as a receiving partner
mainly hosting students and organising work placement for European Graduates. We have built firm foundations with
host companies in Ireland and International partners aboard. Our primary focus is on collaborations with Leonardo Da
Vinci projects, universities, public and private authorities, adult education, initial vocational training and training
organisations in Europe.
Based in Cork City in Southern Ireland, Green Horizons is dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience for our
students. We believe that work placements provide the best way to learn and improve English while gaining exposure
to a professional multicultural work experience.

Host Companies:
At present Green Horizons work with a large database of companies on a continuous basis. The majority of companies
are in and around the Cork area; however we also have a number of companies based in other parts of Ireland. The
host companies are experienced in hosting trainees.
Duration: 1 week
This programme consists of language training and company visit relevant to your particular project. This
type of project allows the participants to learn the basic English skills and the opportunity to observe
working practices and cultural difference in another country. The programme can be tailor-made to
match particular requirements.
Duration: 4 weeks
The participants will begin the training period with an English Course. Then, trainees will be strategically
matched with companies relating to their studies i.e. administration etc. The level of responsibility given
to the students depends on candidate’s ability, previous work experience and English level. Also given
that the placements are quite short, the tasks will be basic roles in order to give the participant an
overview of working in an Irish company.
Placements are generally unpaid and emphasis is on quality work placement experiences in host
companies trained and experienced in hosting trainees.
Duration: 12 weeks
The participants will begin the training period with an English Course. Then, they are matched with a host company
depending on their skill set, work experience and level of English. All candidates need a basic working level in English.
The sectors include administration, marketing, I.T, telecommunication, hotels, tourism, event and festival management,
cultural management, logistics, journalism, radio, film production and many more.
Please note that the above projects are a selection of projects that we work on an on-going basis. We
also are open to requests and can tailor any project to meet your needs and requirements.
