O R D E R:
In the Civil Military Liaison Conference held at Secunderabad on 31-07-1996 attended
by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Other State Government Officials and Military
Officials, the issues relating to exemption from payment of property Tax to Ex-servicemen
widows of Ex-servicemen and also concession in water supply tariff rates to Military
Engineering Service have been discussed and the Commander, Andhra Sub-area requested the
Government to re-examine the matter.
2) The Government have examined the issues in detail and have decided:-
i) Self-occupation : House should be occupied by him/her. In case of serving army
personnel, the house should be occupied by members of his family when he is on
duty at borders.
ii) One building / site only. Only one house/property whichever the Ex-
servicemen/widow/service army personnel chooses alone shall be considered for
exemption.
iii) To give 20% concession in water supply tariff rates to Military Engineering
Services.
3) The above exemptions/concessions are ordered from the date of issue of this order
pending amendments to the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955 and Andhra
Pradesh Municipality Act, 1965 and the rules issued there under and any other
Rules/Regulations.

4) The Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, Hyderabad Commissioners


of Municipal Corporations in the State and Managing Director, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water
Supply and Sewerage Board are requested to take necessary action accordingly.
