Welding Symbol: What is it ?
The Welding Symbol is a
complete instructional
symbol indicating the
particular joint, the type of
weld required and all
supplementary
instructions necessary to
complete the welded joint.
Components
1. An arrow which points to the welded joint inclined at 30° to 90° to the reference line
2. A horizontal reference line 20 to 30mm long
3. Tail for specifications, procedures or references
4. A basic Weld Symbol (different to the Welding Symbol)
