Dear Ms. Tolentino:

I am a senior at the University of Maryland studying Accounting and Finance, and I am writing to apply to the
Junior Trader position at Flow Traders. I would welcome the opportunity to apply my strong analytical skills and
team-oriented attitude to create value and foster strong personal relationships. My interest in equity
analysis/valuation and portfolio management encouraged me to contact you about this employment opportunity.

As you can see from my resume, I had an enriching accounting and finance experience with Deloitte and Kaiser
Permanente Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C. At Deloitte, I was overwhelmed with the amount of
information given to me during my first week of orientation. However, I was determined to show my hard work
ethic and perseverance; after my engagements with clients including Fannie Mae, I received strong positive
feedback from my audit team and upper management. By being adaptable and quickly grasping basic audit concept
and tools through Deloitte’s Technical Library, I demonstrated an initiative to learn from my coworkers and think
for myself.

I have also completed side projects involving valuation techniques to estimate market values. Specifically, I
compared Honda to its industry peers through an EIC analysis, historical analysis, and multiples analysis. I also
participated in PricewaterhouseCooper’s 2016 Elevate Externship Program where I learned about their numerous
client relationships, industry sectors, and lines of services. My participation in a specialized team consulting
experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers gave me valuable insight about how to behave in high pressure
environments.

Looking back and reflecting on my past experiences, I have discovered a passion for dynamic thinking and proactive
team engagements. By learning how to foster team synergy and upholster that work dynamic, I have been able to
solve tough problems and create real impact. Flow Traders is a prestigious firm that would provide me further room
to grow my career aspirations and goals. I am excited about the prospect of interviewing with Flow Traders. Please
do not hesitate to call me at 410-340-8195 or by email at mzhan59@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and
consideration; I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Michael Zhan
