All staff and students of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), upon signing their employment contracts and
registration forms, commit themselves to abide by the policies and rules of the institution. The core activity of NUST is learning and
in this respect academic honesty and integrity is very important to ensure that learning is valid, reliable and credible.
NUST therefore does not condone any form of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism and cheating on tests and assessments,
amongst other such practices. NUST requires students to always do their own assignments and to produce their own academic
work, unless given a group assignment.
All forms of academic dishonesty are viewed as misconduct under NUST Student Rules and Regulations. Students who make
themselves guilty of academic dishonesty will be brought before a Disciplinary Committee and may be suspended from studying for
a certain time or may be expelled. All students who are found guilty of academic dishonesty shall have an appropriate endorsement
on their academic record, which will never be erased.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides an overview on the operational aspects for logistics management. The focus of the course is to
equip the students with fundamentals and contributions of logistics supply chain management to an organization’s
effectiveness and efficiency.

Students Commitment and Course Resources:
Students are expected to commit at least 80% of their time in lecture attendance. All pre-planned tutorials should be
attended 100% and all assigned coursework must be done and submitted within the set timelines.

Supplementary Policies:
Punctuality and class attendance is very important. (Take note of specific regulations to this written in the Year Book
2016 Part 1 and Part 3 (General Information and Regulations/School of Management Sciences)
Each student should manage his/her own registration, that is, you should make sure you are correctly registered for
the right course and course mode. If for any reason you decide to change the mode, make sure the Faculty Officer
and Class Lecturer are fully involved.
Use of cell phones and private irrelevant talking in the class are strictly forbidden.
Missing lectures is normally a significant contributory factor to poor performance in tests, assignments and final
examination.
In the event that you happen to miss a lecture, make sure that you obtain the material(s) covered in class from your
colleagues.
Main emphasis will be placed on creative thinking, and suggested practical solutions to different scenarios or
situations.
You are expected to read ahead of the class and make sure you cover in depth all the topics.
You must acknowledge that you have received the course outline with correct course title and code, by signing on a
separate sheet provided by the lecturer, indicating that you have familiarized yourself with its content and have
understood the statement about academic honesty and integrity.
A student who fails to pay his/her fees may not be allowed to write the examination and if allowed, the results will be
withheld until all outstanding fees are paid in full.
