The Grove

“The GROVE” is as a set of community or society based apartments. These apartments are

planned for the accommodation/lodging of university/college students according to their modern

needs and lifestyle so that they do not feel bore or alone and enjoy every moment of life to the

fullest during the course of their student life. I am a student of University of South Alabama and

the grove is very close to this university. The housing is very convenient for the students as it

provides all the basic necessities of life to students. It is based on rental based agreement and

covers almost all costs of living. In- addition, attractive opportunities for living with the most

possible solutions are also being offered by Grove in Mobile.

While choosing an apartment or housing for living student has to ponder upon the fact that

whether this housing comes under his budget or not and do they provide all the utilities? Since

everybody wants to enjoy the colors of life by remaining in limits and under his/her allocated

budget. The grove offers several handsome packages at reasonable charges. These packages are

designed according to the requested lifestyle preferences by students, because in this modern era,

every student wish to accommodate in a healthy lifestyle and modernized living. Different

utilities such as, high speed internet, sofa, full size beds, arm chair, table are available in every

bedroom, cable TV with almost all channels, washer, dryer, electricity, full kitchen equipped

with dishwasher, refrigerator are also available in every student apartment. Electricity costs up to

$90 per unit in the 3-bedroom unit and $60 in the 2-bedroom unit. The good news is that the

parking is free for all the residents in the Grove. Another opportunity offered by the Grove is

that, its lease agreement is on individual basis rather than per apartment, so there is no need to

worry that the student is going to pay for his roommate living or utility charges if he fails or

denies paying it. To apply, student has to fill out a form with a $100 fee (non-refundable) which

is then processed into a lease agreement and then one can move in just about directly. The lease

cannot be dissolved in between and before leaving one has to reassign the lease agreement to the

other person.

Majority of the students think that most campuses impose strict restrictions on students but

this is not the case with the Grove, its environment is very friendly, safe and does not impose

unnecessary objections. Here, student can enjoy a lot of freedom in an academic setting but on

the safer side, as students are not living alone, so they are also expected to show manner and

responsibility towards the community in return. Moreover, student does not feel bore over here

because Grove has its own community assistant who plans different day to day recreational, fun,

and social activities for the residents over here.

As we all know that smoking is injurious and harmful to health as it can cause lung cancer,

heart and other respiratory diseases so it’s strictly banned inside the academic sitting and residing

area, however if one wants to smoke, he can go outside the campus area to have it. Keeping a

room clean and in proper condition is also very important since it reflects one’s personality, way

of living, mannerism and habits. Proper keep-up can protect against costly future ailments,

ensures safety and also adds value to the place. Maintenance of a place is usually costly for a

student, but grove provides the maintenance service free of any charge to its residents as it has its

own staff who lives there 24-hours and is always ready to provide maintenance service to the

Grove residing students. They can be called upon request through email, or by calling in their

office to get the required service. Furthermore, at this time, there is no permission to carry pets

with you in the Grove. Moreover, there are some items which are not provided by the Grove and

student has to bring them along from home by himself. Some of the items are: bathroom towels,

mop & broom ,vacuum cleaner, laundry detergent, bedding (sheets, comforter, pillows), trash

can,  curtains & rod, Iron & ironing board.

To make student life more easier, Grove also offers an interesting and exclusive online

billing facility to its residents. Moreover, he/she has also an option of choosing his/her roommate

with whom he wants to live with. The process is such that, at the time of doing a leasing

agreement a resident profile card which is a questionnaire is handed over to student in which he

is asked to write about his/her preferences, lifestyle, culture. After that the Grove service team

matches the profile card with other roommates having same likings, interests and lifestyles.

Grove welcomes the students on first come, first serve basis. So at this place, none type of

favoritism and preference is given to any resident. Therefore, to secure an accommodation it

would be better and in favor of the students to apply for the lease agreement as soon as possible.

Besides this, students can have overnight guests as well. They can stay there with the student for

up to three consecutive nights to make him feel at ease in the initial days of lease agreement.

Since we know that theft and crime is common act everywhere and is increasing day by day,

so for the security and personal safety purpose, Grove provides separate bedroom keys to its

residents. In addition, students can also cook meals of their own choice by themselves at any

time as they are provided with separate full equipped kitchens. However, if someone is not

interested in cooking and want to get his/her lunch, dinner outsource then he can also order for

the meal plans that are offered on campus. Last but not the least is the location issue which is the

most important factor that should be kept in mind while deciding upon selection of housing. The

greatest opportunity for South Alabama students who wish to reside in Grove is that it is situated

very near to university of South Alabama and student can reach his/her study campus in almost

ten to twelve minutes through the bus offered by the university. The bus provides pick and drop

service to all the students. So there is no wastage of time and energy in searching for a transport

every day and in this way the student can utilize this time in some other activities.

To be concluded, we can say that Grove offers affordable, handsome packages and modern

lifestyle to its residents/students based upon their preferences and desired budget because prices

vary by community. Besides this, everything has its own pros and cons, same is the case with

Grove housing. But one should focus on the positive aspect of a thing. So after evaluation, we

can conclude that students who want to save their time and energy, demands healthy and safe

environment & wishes to enjoy their life to the fullest should go for the Grove as a trendy

housing facility.
