Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Socrative allows multiple means of representation by allowing for visual aids/charts/images to accompany
quiz questions. Multiple means of expression and engagement are allowed through different forms of
answering: multiple-choice, true/false, and short answer questions, as well as a feature through which
students and the teacher can visibly comment on answers.

Lesson idea implementation: :

Continuing their Asian religious studies as part of the standards, students will be quizzed on their knowledge
as a formative assessment once their research projects are finished. Therefore, the lesson is continuation of
the unit. The lesson follows previous classes of student research, project creation, presentation, and
reflection. With this 10-question quiz utilizing True/False, Multiple-Choice, and Short Answer, students will
have a rough idea of whether they are on track for the unit’s summative. The students are made aware during
the research phase that a quiz is coming after the projects are done.

To take the quiz, students will be provided with a class set of phones, tablets, or laptops. Once complete, we
will go over the quiz as a class to see what the correct answers are. Students will use this as a guidepost for
studying for the summative assessment of the unit. Therefore, the rest of the lesson involves studying and
reviewing. This quiz informs student learning by showing each student if they are on track to do well on the
summative. Student learning is extended to a higher level by having students evaluate their knowledge based
on quiz results.

Reflective Practice:
I feel the activities created will sufficiently uphold student learning outcomes, as it not only engages students
but allows them to reflect on what they know. The lesson could be further extended with a practical,

experience-based summative assessment (as opposed to the typical written test format). Tablets with
styluses can enhance the studying phase by allowing students to write notes and draw maps while studying.
