My own understanding regarding the Mission of UC METC is that providing and promoting
quality in both education and training can develop the students’ positive attitude toward their
studies and work, thus leading them to develop and stronger work ethic and achieve success.
They will also develop team spirit and leadership skills that transforms them into future leaders
and represent their company well. With great quality education, the students can achieve
lifelong opportunities and with great quality training the students will become more adaptive to
the challenges they will face in their future careers.

My own understanding regarding the Vision of UC METC is that it is a world class maritime
Institution wherein students are provided with both great quality education and training and
make them into fine future leaders that can lead the workforce. It is an Institution with great core
values that can help the students in the future and be adaptive to the challenges they will
encounter especially in the Courses of BSMT, BSMARE, and BSNAME.

My own understanding regarding the Core Values of UC METC is that these values are what
supports the mission, vision, and standards of the Institution. Establishing and promoting those
values provides a foundation for both students and instructors and create a pleasant workplace
environment for them. Having Innovation, Camaraderie, Alignment, Respect, and Excellence,
are what makes a fine UC student and become a future leader. These 5 core values are important
because they are all connected in a way that with Respect, Camaraderie is formed, and with
Camaraderie, the values of Innovation, Alignment and Excellence is achieved.
