REFLECTION:

Having knowledge of combative sports can always be an advantage to any individual. In my course
chemical engineering, it is possible that we may work in a dangerous environment in the future like
working in nuclear plants. Practicing combative sports can help in a way that it trains our body to be
more fit and athletic that can help us escape unwanted situations easier. In a very stressful course like
chemical engineering, combative sports can also help in maintaining a healthy body and easing the
stress and anxiety built up from the non-stop activities.

Combative sports is also important to learn for a woman like me as I am aware that I am part of the
weaker gender which is why it is always useful to learn basic combat moves that can be used for self-
defense in case I encounter a situation that is not favorable for me. Furthermore, combat sports do not
only affect the physical health but also helps in strengthening spiritual and mental capabilities. Learning
this sport can help me achieve a better control of my life as I learn different values from the sport like
the importance of discipline and persistence. This sport can also help me have better self-confidence
that would help in having a better quality of life.
