    ​ ​SYLLABUS MODULE 3

    BARRE CHORD ALGORITHM

    1. Define your Root note (A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#).

    2. Define its category (Any Root can be played in any category but the given roots sound
    best in the given categories.

    Upper-: (F, F#, G, G#, A)


    Lower-: (A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E).

    3. Find your Root note on Guitar

    If upper then on 6th String


    If lower then on 5th String.

    4. Using your index finger place a barre on the root fret(for any given conditions the
    position of the root fret remains unchanged)and follow the steps below according to the
    chord which is to be hold

    UPPER CATEGORY LOWER CATEGORY


    MAJOR- ​Place 2nd Finger on MAJOR- ​Skip one Fret from
    3rd string on the next fret, 3rd Root Fret, now using your 3rd
    Finger on 5th String skipping finger place a Barre on 2nd,
    one fret from the root fret and 3rd, 4th String.
    4th Finger
    on 4th String below 3rd finger
    on the Same fret. MINOR- ​Place 2nd finger on
    2nd String on the next fret, 3rd
    MINOR- ​Remove middle finger on 4th String skipping
    Finger from Upper Category one fret and
    Major Chord Shape. 4th finger on 3rd String below
    the 3rd finger on the Same
    Fret.
    METRONOME​: - ​Metronome is a Device that Produces an Audible Click at Set Interval by the
    user which helps them improve and create a sense of correct timing
