Factors Related To Nurse’s Response Time In Handling Of Emergency Patients
The success of medical care for emergency services is influenced by the speed in providing assistance to patients. The emergency service is a service to save the lives of patients in an emergency which is commonly referred to as the ER which has a philosophy in emergency management that saving time is saving live. That philosophy means that the action taken must be really effective and efficient because if it is late in a matter of minutes the patient can lose his life. In emergency care, the most important thing to note is the speed of nurses in acting when entering the emergency room which is usually called response time. Response time requires standards according to competence and ability so that emergency care can be guaranteed quickly and accurately. In a study conducted by Maatilu, the response time of nurses mostly had a response time of >5 minutes as much as 56.7%. In this study using a sampling technique with a total sampling of 24 samples and primary data obtained directly from the respondents by using a research questionnaire filled out by the respondents themselves. The data analysis used was univariate, namely descriptive analysis used to determine the distribution and percentage of variables and bivariate analysis was used to see the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results of the study were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents with education level, knowledge, length of work, training and response time. Research experts stated about the analysis of the factors that affect the clinical performance of nurses based on the application of hospital clinical performance management development system. Based on the results of statistical tests, it shows that there is a significant relationship between the length of work of nurses and the response time of nurses in handling emergency patients. The length of work of nurses in hospitals is synonymous with high productivity. This is in line with the theory which states that members who have worked in an organization for a long time will get more experience so that their performance will be better which influences experience on nurse performance. In addition, the performance of nurses can be seen from the level of education. The education level of health workers is becoming higher which causes knowledge and experience to also increase, on average they are in their jobs longer so they are more productive and nurses have attended several parts of the training to improve their competence.
