Introduction
Drug abuse is
primarily a
problem of the
youth. These
youth become
drug
abusers because t
heir family, comm
unity and country
allowed
these to be
so. Hence,
solutions lie inthe
hands of the
parents, teachers,
civic/religious
leaders, law
enforcers and
governmentofficia
ls. Drug ab
use is the
repeated and
excessive use of
drugs. It impacts a
person’s mental
as well as physical
health negatively
causing a major
damage to the
brain. Drug abuse
hampers a
person’s power to
practice self
-control and
interferes with
their ability to
resist theurge to
take drugs. Drugs
are initially taken
out of choice,
however, it
becomes hard to
resistthem sooner
than you realize.
It is difficult to
recover from this
problem and even
those whodo
stand a high risk
of developing it
again.Drug abuse
involves
compulsive and
excessive intake
of drugs over a
period of
time.Repeated
use of drugs
results in
developing
addiction that has
harmful
repercussions. It
is a problem that
directly impacts
the structure and
functioning of the
brain causing
grave damageto
it. Drug abuse, a
term used for
obsessive and
excessive use of
drugs, is a
common
problemthese
days. Regular use
of drugs is self-
damaging. It leads
to addiction and
causes behaviour
al changes. Drug a
buse particularly i
mpacts the brain
and can also lead
to otherhealth
issues such as
kidney failure and
heart
problem.Everyon
e should get
involved. Support
one another to
instill the basic
ideals andvalues
that will mould
our youth into
responsible and
caring citizens of
our country.
Theyouth who
will be our leaders
of tomorrow.

Project
Description
Title: DRUG
ADDICTION
PREVENTION AND
CONTROLAccordi
ng to a primer
prepared by the
Dangerous Drug
Board (DDB), the
illegal
andexcessive use
of drugs is simply
the taking of any
chemical
substance,
whether illicit or
licit,which results
in the impairment
of a person
’s physical,
mental,
emotional, and
social
capacities .A drug
is a substance
that brings about
physical,
emotional, or
behavioral change
in a person taking
it. Any
drug maybe harm
ful if taken in dan
gerous
quantities or com
binations,or by
individuals
sensitive to the
effects in ordinary
or even minute
amounts.Drug
therefore, have
been used by
people for various
reasons; some
good, some
bad.They are
used as
medicines, for
relaxations, relief
from tensions,
etc. As time
passes, people

learn to use this

substance for
different purpose.
They start it in a
dangerous way.
So, let’s be
vigilant if
someone offers
you drugs.

PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
Being caught up
in a generation
where millennials
are thought as
people who can’t
besuccessful in
the future, there’s
a very high
chance that the
youth
 today would
resort toexcessive
use of anti-
depressants to let
go of what they
are feeling. But,
as the cliché goes,

  Lahat  ng  sobra
ay  masama
,” there will
always be bad
effects when you
excessively
usesomething,
especially when
its’s something as
danger
ous as drugs.
Based on what is
happening in
today’s
generation,
especially for the
youth, the intake
and usage of
drugs seems to be
just a normal
thing. The
aforementioned
claim is
supported by the
fact that 3,974 dr
ug users and couri
ers were arrested
and more than 13
0,000
surrendered to
the Philippine
National Police
(PNP) upon the
implementation
of its
“OplanTokhang”
in the month of
July.

When “Oplan
Tokhang” made a
noise for its
successful
implementation,
people
started to get
comfortable with
the lives they are
living, knowing
that the number
of drugusers in
the country are
decreasing
rapidly, but as we
all know, the
usage of illegal
drugs isvery
rampant in the
Philippines, so no
one should let
their guard down
for other drug
usersare lurking in
the dark, doing
well-executed
plans under the
radar of the
authorities.

 The proponents a
im to help the dru
g-intoxicated peo
ple to get out of t
he shadows witht
he help of weekly
counseling and
seminars to be
held monthly.
With this kind of
interactiveactions
, it will surely be
helpful for the
drug users to
change their ways
and get back to
beinga good
person, free from
the control and
influence of
drugs. If the
intoxicated drug
user goesunder
successful
counseling and
seminars, there is
a high chance that
a
completerehabilit
ation can be
attained.As stated
in the preceding
paragraph, the
main action for
those youth
under
theinfluence of
drugs is they will
undergo intensive
and serious
counseling
sessions every
week, plus a
monthly seminar
about drugs
during the
rehabilitation
process that will
last for at
leastthree
months. Aside
from the one-on-
one sessions, the
drug users will
also engage
in physical
activities to
somehow sweat
out some of the
drugs they have
taken inside their
body.This kind of
peer and one-on-
one sessions with
the youth under
the influence of
drugswill surely
be very helpful for
the latter. Aside
from they are
able to open up to
someone
about the
struggles they’ve
had which pushed
them to resorting
to the bad help
brought by
illegal drugs, they
are able to reflect
about the things
they have done
before they used
drugs.As stated in
earlier
paragraphs, if a
drug user goes on
a successful
rehabilitation
process, itwill be
able to break
free from the
influence of
drugs.The success
of the
rehabilitation
process done to
the drug users will
be
evaluatedthrough
the future actions
of the latter. If an
ex-drug user
refuses to resort
to the help of
drugsever again
and takes a new
path in his life, it
is considered as a
successful
rehabilitation.
Ifthe person
unfortunately
accepts drugs
back into its life, it
is then considered
an
unsuccessfulreha
bilitation process.

PROJECT NEEDS
AND COST
The cost for the
execution of the
project about
informing people
about the good
and bad effects of
drugs will only req
uire a small amou
nt of money and if
possible, none. Th
e projects mostly
focuses on the cri

understanding abi
lity of the audienc
ewhich only
requires mind
works, not
money-related
works.The items
needed in the
project would be
facts about the
good and bad
effects ofdrugs
which would be
little to no cost
for the people
who would
participate in the
event.However, if
there will be a
certain budget
allotted for the
execution of the
project, it would
be probably used
for the food
and accommodati
on of the
participants.Main
personnel needed
to carry through
the project
proposed about
drugs would
bethe proponents
of the project and
the equipment
needed would be
the media that
the proponents
would use to
further explain
the bad and good
effects of
drugs.ITEMS
