It is the most fundamental form of pile load test and is considered as the benchmark of pile performance. Testing has been performed in the load range up to maximum of 180 tons as required for design criteria of the project. Scope ‘The load test wil be applied via a jack acting against a reaction beam, which is restrained by Jacking up against a reaction mass ("Kent ledge” or dead weight). The nominated test load wil be applied in oe eaee of increments in accordance with pre-determined load testing specification for a project. Fach Tosd increment is sustained for a specified time period, or until the rate of ple movement is less than a nominated value. Static load testing method will be applicable to one test tral pile. Trial pil purpose of carrying out load tests. ‘The test method will be applied as per standard deflection of a vertical deep foundation Pile load applied deep foundation to cast in place pile Significance and Use reliable relationship between the axial load applied to a deep This field tests provide the most foundation and the resulting axial movement. Test results also provide information used to assess the distribution of side shear resistance along the pile shaft, the amount of end bearing developed at the pile toe, and the long-term load-deflection behavior. les will be constructed for the ASTM D1143 M-2020. This Test measure the axial fed in static axial compression. This method will be tic Load Testing (Compression. ‘This vertical compression pile maintained load test is carried out to ensure the structural and geotechnical soundness of the pile and also to predict settlement of other ples. The usual procedure st increase the loadin stages unt the proposed working load and a certain factor of safety is reached ‘and then to unload and to leave the load off until the rise or rebound substantially ceases. Varieties of test procedures have been developed for carrying pile load test; among the most common procedures for pile load test is: ‘A. Kent ledge System (for compression test only) Page 3 of 10 ail Scanned with CamScanner ANNEXURE “A” procedure The pile load Test as per the procedure laid in ASTM D1143 M-2020 is described below; Kent ledge System Necessary bearing plates, hydraulic jack(s), hemispherical bearing.
