Why do the traditional public school culture “factory model” no

longer work in today’s world?

According to Jean Piaget, “The principle goal of education is to

create humans who are capable of doing new things-not simply

repeating what other generations have done. This quotation reflects

on why the traditional public school culture ‘factory model’ is no

longer effective in today’s world because this teaching method doesn’t


serve its best to the needs of today’s generation, and in fact, culture

affect school, and for this reason, the culture that the students have

been practice today will give an impact to the ways of their

participation in school. If factory model would still the means of

teaching, it is expected that schools will have low quality learning

because as the world changes, there is also changes in the curricula,

one factor is embracing creativity of other countries educational

curriculum, the K-12 program, because this is what the society

needs, for students to learn competitively in accordance to the culture

they live with. For example, living in a modern world means teachers

and us, students should be tech-savvy so that we can survive in this

unprecedented time that online class is the new means of teaching

and learning.
