Do you ever wonder why certain practices within your culture are being practiced or where
and why they started in the first place?

I do, and now I understand why Filipinos have always been religious, helpful, respectful, and
many more. Our ancestors have influenced us so much on having the same values as a nation,
from the simplest things like the essence of life, how we should treat others equally and with
respect. They taught us that life is a gift, that life should cherish by making it meaningful by
creating objectives and accomplishing them, no matter how difficult they may be. Moreover, to
be true to our words and take accountability for our actions. More importantly, I love how
Kartilya emphasized that a real Katipunero prioritizes honor over personal gain. It is tough to
practice that nowadays, especially with the ongoing situations of our world. This lecture has
taught me that I should never forget these sacred practices and pass them down to the next
generations.
