Grampians Peaks Trail Update

GPT Helicopter air-lift operations Tuesday March 30th

On Tuesday March 30th 2021 Parks Victoria will be undertaking air operations as part of Grampians Peaks Trail
construction. To ensure the air operation is undertaken safely, the following closures will be in place for the
day:

Tuesday March 30th

AM Mt William

PM Barbican Rocks

Park Closures: The main access road to Mt WIlliam Carpark and all walking tracks leading to the Major
Mitchell Plateau (Boundary Gap, Sheephills tk, Major Mitchell overnight walk Mt William to first Wannon hike
in camp). It will also include flights paths to Barbican rocks area south of the Mt William Road.

PM Mt Difficult Range (Roses Gap/Mt Difficult)

Park closures: Roses Gap Rd (Temporary traffic management) Beehive Falls walking track, Mt Difficult day
walk, Briggs Bluff day walk, Mt Difficult overnight walk Tuesday into Wednesday.

Mt Difficult area Closures


Mt William/Major Mitchell Plateau closures

Signage will be in place and on ground personnel will be attending closures. It is important for
public safety that all closures in this area are observed by visitors and the community.

Additional air-lifting operations will occur throughout early 2021. An update will be provided closer
to specific dates.
