In this lesson, I have gained more knowledge about THEORIES OF CONSTRAINTS.

The theory of constraints is a methodology for identifying the most important limiting
factor (i.e. constraint) that hinders the achievement of a goal and then systematically
improving that constraint until it is no longer the limiting factor. In manufacturing,
constraints are often referred to as bottlenecks

As in your company's deliveries that are frequently complained by customers or are

late, you can apply the theory of constraints to identify the major impediments that
have caused delivery delays. . Then, using five focused steps, you can undo the
"knots," making it less of a problem for the delivery process.

Every project has a certain limitation. Starting with the idea of the weakest link in the
chain, by addressing the main constraint, or weakest link, you can make the project
process smoother. Once you identify the biggest constraint in a project or process, you
can improve the constraint iteratively until it is no longer the limiting factor. After you
solve the first constraint, there will be a new largest constraint. You can then work to
resolve that constraint iteratively.

A successful implementation of The Theory of Constraints will have the following

benefits:
● Increasing profits: the main goal of TOC for most companies
● Rapid improvement: the result of focusing all the attention on one critical -
limited area of the system
● Capacity enhancement: limited optimization allows more products to be
produced
● Reduced lead time: optimizing constraints leads to smoother and faster product
flow
● Reduce inventory: eliminating bottlenecks means less work in the process.

Theory of Constraints provides a specific methodology for identifying and removing

constraints, known as the Five Focused Steps. As shown in the following diagram, it
is a cyclic process.
This is my reflection of the last day of 2021. Have a nice day!
