1. Common clinical manifestation of cardiovascular disorder.

Often, there are no symptoms of the underlying disease of the blood vessels. A heart attack or
stroke may be the first sign of underlying disease. Symptoms of a heart attack include:

• Pain or discomfort in the centre of the chest.

-Chest pain is a very common complaint. Many patients are well aware that it is a warning of potential
life-threatening disorders and seek evaluation for minimal symptoms. Other patients, including many
with serious disease, minimize or ignore its warnings. Pain perception (both character and severity)
varies greatly between individuals as well as between men and women. However described, chest pain
should never be dismissed without an explanation of its cause.

• Pain or discomfort in the arms, the left shoulder, elbows, jaw, or back.

-Most often a heart attack occurs when a blood clot obstructs blood flow into your heart muscle
(myocardial infarction). This commonly causes a cramping or squeezing pain in the center or right side of
your chest. Heart attack symptoms are extremely variable, but sometimes the pain in your chest extends
to one or both shoulders and arms.In addition to shoulder and arm pain, you may also have pain, aching
or discomfort in other areas of your upper body, such as your neck, jaw or back, without any chest pain.
This happens more commonly in women than in men.

In addition the person may experience difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath; nausea or vomiting;
light-headedness or faintness; a cold sweat; and turning pale. Women are more likely than men to have
shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and back or jaw pain.

The most common symptom of a stroke is sudden weakness of the face, arm, or leg, most often on one
side of the body. Other symptoms include sudden onset of:

•numbness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body;

•confusion, difficulty speaking or understanding speech;

•difficulty seeing with one or both eyes;

•difficulty walking, dizziness and/or loss of balance or coordination;

•severe headache with no known cause; and/or

fainting or unconsciousness.
