Weekly Online Activities Log

Media or Information Provider Number of hours in a week
Facebook 14 hours
Messenger 21 hours
YouTube 7 hours
Google 7 hours
Television 14 hours
TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS/WEEK 63 hours

Question:

Of the list that you have enumerated in your Weekly Online Activities Log, which media provider did you
spend the most time? And what role does this media provider play in your life as a SHS student?

Answer:

The most used media in my life as a senior high school student is Messenger because the
information is essential for tasks and announcements. The Messenger serves as a medium that provides
me daily important information as a student; I'm fully aware of what to do and when to do a given task. I
keep myself connected with my friends, families, and most importantly, in school events because of
Messenger, and it's essential now we're in the middle of a pandemic.

Question:

Looking at the total number of hours you have spent on online activities per week, do you think the
figure is essential for you to be able to be media and information literate individual?

Answer:

Yes, it is essential for me because as a learner who’s using it wisely, I am considered a media and
information literate individual. After all, I use information and media effectively to accomplish a specific
task that media can provide. However, the number of hours for me is too much, which can cause me
trouble. I should expose myself to a different healthy way of consuming media like books, radio, or even
newspapers.
