Have you ever stopped watching content in your native language in order to improve your target

language?

In my case, when I decided to learn English without excuses I knew that immersion was necessary
so I was willing to spend as much as possible and achieve my goal. It was difficult because in
background was memorizacing vocabulary and read simple parragraphs and translate every single
word that I do not know in spanish and lear it after. Of course, I was always using subtitles and
generate automatics subtitles in order to “understand” different content on Youtube. In my
perspective, I admit it was the best decision ever but at the same time I could do better.

The best decision because it was so spontaneous and funny, so I was not feeling bored and I was
learning with tv shows, series and vloggers that always entertaining me so time flies. Unfornately,
my problema was to focus on this strategy so much that it was the only thing I was doing and I
forgot apply other thecnis in other to Sharp my skills better.

Of course, once you do not watch content in your native language for a while, you will feel
eventually a great pleasure when you decide to take a break and watch some videos, read or
listening to music that was always part of your daily life ( I am talking of entertaiment because
normally in school or work we need to use our native language but it is not the same as enjoying a
good time)
