NOTE : Only those aircraft Listed above with Factory Equipped


Century 21 and Century 41 Autopilots installed are affected.

Compliance Time : Recommended at the next regularly scheduled


inspection event, unless previously accomplished.

Purpose :

It has been determined that, with factory-installed Century 21 and Century 41 Series
Autopilots, the plastic instrument panel cover may not be sufficiently trimmed at the
attitude indicator and directional gyro locations to allow the panel lights to illuminate
these instruments. Although adequate lighting is available from the overhead light,
it is recommended that the plastic panel be trimmed to allow proper illumination from
panel lighting.

Instructions :

1. Remove upper left hand instrument panel cover.


2. Trim attitude indicator and directional gyro openings per the attached illustration.
3. Re-install panel cover.

NOTE : After re-installation of panel cover, insure that directional gyro knobs
have enough detent to engage card and heading bug.

4. Make appropriate logbook entry of compliance with this Service Release.

This Service Release is effective upon receipt.

Summary :

Please contact your Piper Field Service Facility to make arrangements for compliance
with the provisions of this Service Release in accordance with the Compliance Time
indicated.

Any applicable Factory participation will remain in effect for a period of time not to
exceed 180 days from the date of this Service Release.
