Think about how our actions could stop pollution and finish the following list. Write it down and hang it where you can see it
1. Instead than driving to work or the store, commute smartly by
walking or cycling. The most major source of most common air pollutants is still motor vehicle emissions. 2. When it's time to replace your car, choose a fuel-efficient one. 3. Turn off the television and make sure the light switch is turned off when you leave the room to save energy. You will not only save money on your electricity bill, but you will also help to reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants. 4. Buy energy -efficient appliances. Check the energy rating label when buying new or second hand electrical appliances. More stars mean less emissions. 5. Use environmentally friendly cleaning products. Phosphorus in detergents increases nutrient loads in rivers and can cause excessive algal growth. Never pour chemicals or fertilizers down the drain as they get washed into storm water drains and into rivers or the ocean.
