The Role of Islamic Senior High School in Nation’s Leadership

Honorable judges, respectable audience and everyone here today,
Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

َ ‫ف ْالَأل ْنبِيا َ ِء َو ْال ُمرْ َسلِ ْينَ َسيِّ ِدنا َ َو َموْ لَنَا ُم َح َّم ٍد َو َعلَى اَلِ ِه َو‬
‫ اَ َّما‬, َ‫صحْ بِ ِه اَجْ َم ِع ْين‬ ِ ‫َلى اَ ْش َر‬ َّ ‫اَ ْل َح ْم ُد هللِ َربِّ ال َعالَ ِم ْينَ َوال‬ , ‫بِس ِْم هللاِ الرّحْ َم ِن ال َّر ِحي ِْم‬

First of all, let us praise and thank to Allah Almighty, because his blessings we can gather in this place without any
barriers. Salawat and Salam always be delivered to the Prophet Muhammad who has brought us from the darkness to the
brighter era, namely Islam. May we all get intercession on the end, Aamiin.
I would also say so many thanks to the judges for giving me opportunity to deliver my speech, under the title the role of
Islamic senior high school in nation’s leadership.
But before delivering my speech, let me introduce my self. I’m Evi Nuriffah Putri from MAIT Bina Insan Cendekia
Pasuruan.
Have you ever read or listened a quote from our first president, Soekarno?
Give me 1.000 olders, I will surely pull out Semeru from the root. Give me 10 young men and I will surely shake the
world.
The future of Indonesia is determined by the young generation. Because, teenagers today will be the next leader and
controller of this nation. Therefore, every Indonesian youth must be prepared to play an important factor which highly relied by
the Nation in realizing and maintaining the ideals and sovereignty.
Ladies and gentleman…
As the majority in this nation, we are as muslim must be grateful for having a big chance of having an Islamic educational
system that is applied in many sectors including Islamic Senior high school. The operational concept of Islamic senior high
school that facilitate the students to learn both general science and islamic teachings is the best concept to educate future
generations. Because by this system, the students will have ability to practice the knowledge without ignoring islamic values.
In my opinion, young generation that will be the next leader must have a strong character, high personality, a spirit of
nationalism, a competitive spirit, and ability to understand knowledge and technology to compete globally for the nation. But
don’t forget, the main foundation of all of those is islamic values. And, I assure you that the concept of Islamic senior high
school is the answer of those needs.
At least, there are four characters which developed on Islamic senior high school:
The first; Strong and Straight Faith. By having a strong and upright faith, a student can be guided in the right path and
avoid the student viruses. It will lead students to a better Islamic behavior in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah.
The second; Good Morals. Morals will let students know how to behave, respect, and when they need to be firm.
The third; Knowledgeable. Science is the key to human success. As stated in the hadith: "Whoever wants good in the
world then with knowledge. Whoever wants good in the hereafter then with knowledge. Whoever wants both, then with
knowledge. (H.R. Bukhori and Muslim)
And the last is great leadership. Because it is required in every field where the students will take a part. And it is related
to the hadith ‫اع َو ُكلُّ ُك ْم َمسْ ُئ ْو ٌل َعنْ َرع ّي ِت ِه‬
ٍ ‫ ُكلُّ ُك ْم َر‬.
As a matter of fact, the independence of this nation was gained by the big roles of muslim scholars. We can mention KH.
Kasyim Asy’ari, KH. A. Dachlan, KH. Zainal Mustafa and others. And this role is continued by further generations until this day.
We can take an example from KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, the fourth president of this nation who is alumnus of Islamic senior
high school. Besides, we also can find many regions in this nation are led by muslims. And of course, not a few of them are
alumnus of Islamic senior high school.
So, here I can conclude that the existence of senior high school is really taking a big role for this nation’s leadership.
This is the end of my speech today.Ideally what I have said is gainful for us. I am so sorry if I had a mistake. Thank you
