SESSION #9

CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING (30 minutes)

You will answer and rationalize this by yourself. This will be recorded as your quiz One (1) point will be
given to correct answer and another one (1) point for the correct ratio Superimpositions or erasures in
you answer ratio is not allowed You are given 30 minutes for this activity.

I. Identify the following classifications of epithelium.

1.

Simple cuboidal Epithelium

4.

Stratified Columnar Epithelium

2.

Pseudostratified columnar epithelium

5.

Simple columnar Epithelium

3.

Stratified Cuboidal Epithelium

6.

Stratified Squamous Epithelium

Ratio:

1. Simple cuboidal Epithelium

Single layer cells of cube-shaped cells. That carry out active transport, facilitated diffusion, or secretion.

2. Pseudostratified columnar Epithelium

Single layer of cells that is tall and thin that can reach the free surface and others do not.

3. Stratified Cuboidal Epithelium

It is consist of more than one of layer of cuboidal epithelial cells by various membrane junctions, or
places between cells bound together with specialized proteins.

4. Stratified Columnar Epithelium

It is a rare type of epithelial tissue composed of column shaped cells arranged in multiple layers.

5. Simple columnar Epithelium

Single layer cells of tall and thin cells. The large size of these cells enable them to perform complex
functions.

6. Stratified Squamous Epithelium

It is have many layers of cells that are cuboidal in the basal layers and progressively flattened towards
the surfaces.
LESSON WRAP-UP (5 minutes)

Teacher directs the student to mark (encircle) their place in the work tracker which is simply a visual to
help students track how much work they have accomplished and how much work there is left to do this
tracker will be part of the student activity sheet

You are done with the session! Let's track your progress

AL Activity: The Muddiest Point Period 3

You will now answer what was least clear for this session. This technique will help you determine which
key points you missed.

In today's session, what was least clear to you?

It’s clear to me the functions of epithelium and their classification of epithelium. This today’s session I
felt amaze about this lesson because now I know about tissues.
