with Sharks, a remake of the 1994 comedy of the same name.
Kruger starred in the sword-and-sandal epic Troy as the famed ancient Greek mythological
character Helen of Troy, a woman renowned for her beauty whose kidnapping led to the
Trojan War, as depicted in Homer's story. She was joined by Ocean's 11 star Brad Pitt as the Marvel Denounces Anti-LGBTQ Laws

Hollywood industry insiders explain that screen tests are generally filmed and then later
reviewed by pertinent members of the production. It is not a typical experience for an actor to
have a personal wardrobe test for a studio executive. Although Kruger declined to reveal the
name of the executive in question, she further explained that during her time in Hollywood
she has "definitely come across the Weinsteins of the world from the get go," referring to
Harvey Weinstein, the infamous co-head of the Weinstein Company who allegedly sexually
assaulted over 80 women over his decades as a major film producer. Kruger began her career
as a model in the mid-90s and claims she has previously been placed in inappropriate and
uncomfortable situations, stating, "I think when I first started out, it just felt like, this is what
it’s like. This is what Hollywood is like."
In an explicit scene from Kruger's upcoming psychological series Swimming with Sharks, her
character had to please her sickly boss by performing a sex act on a young female nurse. The
actor relates the scene to her experiences and observations over the years as an actor in the
industry saying, "Shooting that scene was just a reminder of how disgusting and acceptable
bad behavior was at a certain time in our society, not just Hollywood." Although Harvey
Weinstein was arrested in 2018 and convicted in 2020 on rape and sexual assault charges,
Hollywood and society have a long way to go to acknowledge its past wrongs and to make
efforts to ensure that such despicable things never happen again. Despite the humiliating
situation she was put through, she was praised for her pivotal role in Troy, a film that was
generally panned by critics at the time. Kruger's upcoming series Swimming with Sharks
streams on the Roku channel on April 15.
