1. How does rock formation become an evidence of the early earth?

Formation of Earth. Earth came together (accreted) from the cloud of dust and gas
known as the solar nebula nearly 4.6 billion years ago, the same time the Sun and
the rest of the solar system formed. Gravity caused small bodies of rock and metal
orbiting the proto-Sun to smash together to create larger bodies.

2. What makes the internal Earth hot?

There are three main sources of heat in the deep earth: (1) heat from when the
planet formed and accreted, which has not yet been lost; (2) frictional heating,
caused by denser core material sinking to the center of the planet; and (3) heat
from the decay of radioactive elements.

3. How does the Earth’s interior help in the balance of our temperature in the
planet?
Absorbed sunlight is balanced by heat radiated from Earth's surface and
atmosphere. The atmosphere and the surface of the Earth together absorb 71 percent
of incoming solar radiation, so together, they must radiate that much energy back
to space for the planet's average temperature to remain stable.

4. Does the earth’s interior contribute to the climate change we experience as of

the present?
Yes, Since 1970, CO2 emissions have increased by about 90%, with emissions from
fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes contributing about 78% of the total
greenhouse gas emissions. Agriculture, deforestation, and other land-use changes
have been the second-largest contributors.
