Case study :-

(a) Would a leader’s sense of humor affect his ability to build teams and motivate team
performance?

After reading the case study, my initial thought on ‘does humor matter’ transposed. A
leader’s sense of humor does affect his ability to build teams and motivate team performance
depending on the leadership styles he chooses and the context in which it is delivered.

(b) Would you use humor when you are leading a team for a project? Why and when would
you use humor?

Yes, I would definitely use humor when I am leading a team for a project because humor
increases productivity and create overall happier employees. Healthy employees tend to be
more productive and engaged, and laughter really does make great medicine. Morever,
laughter can also make us better at our jobs. In addition to reducing stress, having a chuckle
in the office makes team more motivated and engaged.
