Decision Support Systems (DSS)

As a result, the DSS assists executives with non-routine decision-making. Because these executives
work in a dynamic environment, they must make judgments that are not based on historical patterns
or models. As a result, new models (mathematical representations of real-world systems) must be
developed to aid in decision-making. A computer model may be used to simulate a real-life situation
and help you make a choice. Use of Excel with proper functions and formulas to import data from
the TPS is a basic example. Changing key values in the functions and equations will result in distinct
decision-making outcomes.
