 Topic/issue: Improving mental/emotional health counseling and availability in public high

schools
 Stance: Further mental support and outlets should be available to teens in public schools to
improve students emotional and mental health. This should be done through better counseling
and resources to meet the needs of students and improve their lives in and out of school, as well
as teachers being more receptive to student needs and to connect them to resources when
concerned.
 Audiences: Parents of high schoolers, School staff and personnel
 Genres: The following three genres will be used
- formal email to school administration
- advertisement on social media aimed at parents
- presentation for a school meeting (like a pta meeting)
