Shepard opportunity to high-income student which is to apply in college.

3. What is the purpose of the text, and how does the author accomplish that purpose? What
evidence does the author use to support the main idea in the text? The purpose of the text
is to convince the readers to see the authors’ point of view become the same of the

example, “Every year, 440,000 low-income high school seniors who are qualified to go to

2008).

4. What specific idea/information in the text challenges or surprises you? Why? The specific

very convenient to every student who wants to continue in college especially now a days
many students cannot go to college because of their personal issues and lack of information.

5. Is the style of writing suitable for the intended audience? Is it too formal or too casual?
Why? I think yes, because readers like students, CEOs and others who wants to read this
can easily understand what the authors stand for and the purpose of the text. I think it is
too formal since it is a business proposal.
