Our organization is a higher learning institution with a large number of student enrolment. The

institution has students from all over the world thus necessitating the need to implement an

eLearning program that will simplify the learning process for all the students and teachers.

Education delivery is undergoing significant changes that forces the administrators to find ways

of embracing new teaching environment and teaching so as to adapt to the new dynamics.

The implementation of the eLearning program requires all employees to learn some new skills

and knowledge that will be pivotal in successful rollout of the program. The employees will be

required to learn or perfect their written communication skills. IT will entail skills for applying

digital audio files, graphics and videos as medium for communicating with the students. The

conversations with students on the eLearning platform will mostly involve voice-messaging,

texting or email hence the need to develop and perfect their communication skills. Furthermore,

the employees will be required to learn technological literacy skills. The employees will be

required to develop knowledge and skills that relate to web-based educational platforms or

systems. The employees will need to learn how to evaluate some internet resources and

implementing and developing suitable lesson plans for the eLearning programs. The employees

will also need to learn how to monitor and model proper etiquette and acceptable eLearning

policies. Additionally, the employees will be required to learn how to troubleshoot or solve some

trivial technical problems and understanding the accessibility requirements for the technology

used in the eLearning program. The employees will also be required to learn or understand

various copyright violations and privileges. Time management is highly important in any

eLearning program hence the need for employees to learn or advance their time management

skills. The employees must learn how to update various course materials and examine

information whenever necessary so that students have relevant and timely information at all

times. The employees are required to learn the evaluation and assessment skills relating to the

eLearning program. New methods and skills of identifying challenges and assessment of students

will be pivotal in ensuring success of the eLearning program once launched. Lastly, the

employees will be required to learn how to assist students become completely engaged based on

their personal learning abilities.

The success of the eLearning program will depend on the community of practice steps I will

take as the team leader. I will undertake various steps to ensure the success of the eLearning

project. Firstly, I will determine the goals and mission of the eLearning project. The mission will

be pivotal for success because it explains how the vision of eLearning program will be attained.

Secondly, I will start building my core team. The core team members will be composed of

various individual with diverse skills and knowledge to ensure there is effective sharing of ideas,

best practices and relevant content relating to the project. Furthermore, I will tarts promoting

knowledge management through easier sharing and access to information by team members. I

will develop some knowledge management system that will store the information and ensure

timely and relevant access. I will also engage in some regular communication with the team

members to ensure there is effective collaboration and coordination undertaking different roles

and responsibilities assigned. Additionally, I will host my first community of practice event that

will involve stipulating the importance of the eLearning project and sharing of different

knowledge and experience learned in the organization.
