Hydrogen

Name Atomic Mass

Protium 1

Deutrium 2

Tritium 3
Tritium is radioactive.
Melting point is directly proportional to atomic mass.

Preparation methods :
. Metal with dilute hydrochloric acid/sulphuric acid gives metal chloride/sulphate
and dihydrogen
Zn + dilHCl → ZnCl2 + H2
. Metal with Sodium Hydroxide with metal zincate and dihydrogen
Zn + N aOH → N a2 ZnO2 + H2
. Electrolysis of acidified water or NaOH/KOH gives hydrogen
H2 O → H2 + O2
. High purity hydrogen is obtained by electrolysis of barium hydroxide.
. Hydrogen is also obtained by using brine solution(fancy term for aqueous NaCl).
