Time Content/Description Notes

Routines
 Students know to run one lap upon entering the gym. While
they are doing this, either Mr. Logan or myself will pull the
2:40pm-2:48pm
basketballs out of the storage room.
8 minutes
 After their lap, students will come and grab a basketball from
the basket and begin playing pirate. While we are handing the
balls out, pick a few students to be pirates (not at the door)
2:48-2:53 Intro to Bean Bag Game
5 minutes  Call students back to the attack line square (red lines).
 We are going to be playing a game today where you are
competing against the other class!
 Good thing we’ve been working on our dribbling because in
this game you’ll need all the skills we’ve been practicing!
 Look around the gym: do you see two different colours of hula
hoops? Yes! There is one colour for each class. Pick someone
from Mr. Logan’s class to choose a colour for their class. My
class will be the other colour.
 You might also notice that there are bean bags around the
gym! Your job is to try and fill up all of your colour of hoops
with bean bags. But! You can only move a bean bag while you
are dribbling with your other hand

 Demonstrate dribbling and moving a bean bag.

 Let students know that they can even steal bean bags from
other peoples’ hoops!
 But you can only move one bean bag at a time. If your ball rolls
away while you’re dribbling and carrying a bean bag you need
to collect your ball and start dribbling again before you can put
the bean bag in your hoop!
 It is going to be extra important to keep your head up while we
are playing this game!
Bean Bag Game
 Have students start on their own half of the gym (where
their bean bags are).
2:50-3:00  Let students know we will play for a certain amount of
10 minutes time and then see who has their hoops more filled up after
the time is up!
 Go!

Ball Thief
 Freeze students once more. Let them know that we are
going to finish today again with ball thief!
3:01-3:06  Check for understanding of who needs to put the ball away
5 minutes when it gets knocked away.
 Sanitize balls as they are brought to the table

Clean Up/Line Up
 Have students return the final basketballs to the table so they
can be sanitized
3:06-3:10  One teacher will sanitize the equipment while the other leads
4 minutes breathing/stretching.
 Get them lined up, sanitized, and head back to the classrooms
