Biology
1. What is fertlization?
Fertilization is the union of the sperm with an egg nucleus, to form an embryo, the
combination of the two gametes begin to form the cycle of life.
2. Where does fertilization take place?
Fertilization takes place in a fallopian tube that join with an ovary to the uterus later that
sperm entrance into the egg cell membrane.
3. How many spermatozoa are liberated into the vagina?
During sexual intercourse about 300 million sperm enter to the vagina.
4. How long does it take the sperm to travel from the vagina to the Fallopian tubes?
Usually takes form 45 minutes to 12 hours for a sperm to travel to the Fallopian tubes.
However, sperms can survive almost three days inside the body.
5. What is the zona pellucida?
The zona pellucida is the one who surrounds the ovulated eggs, in the video actually says that
zona pellucida is in charge of collecting the sperm and protecting them or making a layer for
the sperm after entering and forming its membrane layer, to later be taken to the uterus and
the sperm grow.
6. Why is only one sperm able to enter the ovum?
Because the number of chromosomes that develop is important, chromosomes are so
important that they decide hair color, eye color, and some important information.
7. What happens when the sperm start losing their lining?
Because when they enter the vagina they enter a kind of mucus and acids that contains the
vagina and cervix. This do that sperm become hyperactive.
8. When both fuse, what happens then?
When the sperm and the ovule come together, the membrane process begin, in other words
(cell division).
