© BLUEGROVE INES Institute of Energy and Process Systems Engineering Benchmarking UPS systems for sustainable aquaculture Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems based on rechargeable battery technology are constantly conquering new tasks and fields of application. This also includes applications in very remote locations for aquaculture food production with rather large fluctuations in weather conditions throughout the course of a calendar year. The batteries used In these UPS-systems are therefore exposed to a wide range of extreme conditions, In order to optimize the lifetime and reliability of these UPS systems, varicus commercial and non-commercial battery types will be benchmarked for their suitability under these extreme conditions. The goal is to design a decision making tool for the selection of battery types and systems based on desired location and application of the UPS system.
