b. Usage (cách dùng): Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn đạt một hành động mang tính thường xuyên,
thói quen hoặc hành động lặp đi lặp lại có tính quy luật.
1. Diễn tả một hành động hay một sự việc thường xảy ra.
2. Diễn tả một sự việc có thực xảy ra trong một thời gian dài.
3. Diễn tả một sự thật hay một chân lí thời nào cũng đúng.
4. Nói về một hành động trong tương lai đã được đưa vào chương trình, kế hoạch.
5. To be used to + noun/ verb-ing : quen với (được dùng để chỉ một tập quán hoặc thói quen trong
hiện tại).
C. Dấu hiệu nhận biết của thì hiện tại:
- Trạng từ chỉ tần xuất: always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom, never.
- Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian: every + time (every day), today, nowadays, on Sundays.

2. Possessive case (Sở hữu cách)
- Sở hữu cách được dùng để diễn đạt sự sở hữu.
- Cách thành lập: Người làm chủ + ‘s + vật/ người thuộc quyền sở hữu (tức là thuộc về người đó)
Ex: Mary’s book
- Lưu ý:
+ Danh từ số ít nhưng có s cuối mỗi từ (như tên riêng, hoặc danh từ có s sẵn), thêm ‘s.
E.g: Doris’s jeans
+ Danh từ số nhiều không có S, thêm ‘S.
E.g: children’s books
+ Danh từ là số nhiều có S, chỉ thêm dấu phẩy, không thêm S.
E.g: students’ library
+ Nếu vật hay người thuộc về hai danh từ nối nhau bằng chữ “AND” chỉ thêm ‘s cho danh từ thứ hai.
E.g: Carol and Susan’s car

I. COMPARATIVES OF ADJECTIVES
UINIT 5:
2. Countable and uncountable nouns (Danh từ đếm được và danh từ không đếm được)
- Danh từ đếm được (Countable Nouns) là những danh từ chỉ sự vật tồn tại độc lập riêng lẻ, có thể
đếm được, có thể sử dụng với số đếm đi liền đằng trước từ đó.
Danh từ đếm được có hai loại hình thái, được phân loại thành danh từ số ít và danh từ số nhiều.
Danh từ số ít thường được chuyển sang dạng số nhiều bằng cách thêm “s” hoặc “es” vào tận cùng
của danh từ, hoặc có một số trường hợp bất quy tắc.
- Danh từ không đếm được (Uncountable Nouns) là những danh từ chỉ những sự vật, hiện tượng
mà chúng ta không thể sử dụng với số đếm. Khác với danh từ đếm được, các danh từ không đếm
được chỉ có dạng số ít. Danh từ không đếm được số nhiều thường để chỉ những chất liệu không
đếm được hoặc danh từ chỉ sự vật, hiện tượng trừu tượng.
Những danh từ không đếm được được chia làm 5 nhóm điển hình như sau: thức ăn, các khái niệm
trừu tượng, các môn học, hiện tượng tự nhiên, hoạt động. Ví dụ: money (tiền), advice (lời khuyên),
rain (trời mưa), …
3. Some, any (một vài)
- Dùng để chỉ số lượng cho danh từ đếm được và không đếm được ở số nhiều
- Some: dùng trong câu khẳng định, câu đề nghị, câu hỏi mang tính chất lời mời
Ex: Would you like some tea?
- Any: dùng trong câu phủ định, câu hỏi
Ex: Is there any rice left in the cooker?
UNIT 6
Modal “should/shouldn’t ” (nên/không nên)
- Dùng để diễn đạt lời khuyên
(+) S + should + V(bare inf..)
(-) S + shouldn’t + V(bare inf..)
