Narrative Report

Another story to tell and experience to share as Quezon National High School celebrated
International Mathematics Day. It’s been a while that students had an active participation with this kind
of event since pandemic. There were numerous games and contests participated with our dear
enthusiastic students in all levels. One of those is the Rubik’s Cube Competition which I am the
facilitator.

There were 20 students coming from different grade levels volunteered or chosen by their
Mathematics teacher as contestants. The competition was divided into two rounds, the elimination and
final round. The game was “race against time”. Each contestant was timed as they solve the Rubik’s
cube. During elimination round, only the top five had gone to the finals. Out of the five finalists, Rodel
Tampos of G9-ABM Jasmine came to be the champion with 30 second time.

Mathematics is not just the “Xs and Ys”. It does not only teaches us how to add enthusiasm and
subtract boredom but it gives us hope that every problem has a solution. Thank you very much and
congratulations dear students, parents, teachers, active department head and supportive school
principal for another accomplishment.
