Chief Tree Officer

Anoop Chandran has been a constant advocate for urban forests over the last decade. He seeks to
develop and build out our global urban forestry program, with a focus on supporting underserved
communities. Anoop personally has built more than one hundred tree planting projects all over
South India. With a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, he's most at home in the green
forest and feels privileged to contribute to reforestation efforts. 

Anoop manages the projects team, oversees the reforestation efforts, and focuses on tree planting
programs within Kerala. He is passionate about economic development and believes that forestry
plays a vital role in providing developing communities with resources to grow. Anoop strongly
believes in the importance of working together with local communities to make this world a
greener place. He advocates for the preservation of green spaces and values the importance of the
connection to nature.

Manager - Urban Forest

Deepu Dileep is responsible for managing our tree planting projects. Deepu strives to make a
positive impact wherever he goes. He has spent many years in the Middle East as a tree planter
working on smallholder farms; he advocates getting more trees on the ground. He brings
tremendous experience in urban forestry and forest restoration to help support the team and
increase the pace and scale of the We Grow Forest Foundation's work.

Deepu is a Graduate of Botany and strongly believes trees should be placed at the centre of a
circular, genuinely sustainable economy. Apart from these, he is an excellent wildlife
photographer and a trekking expert who loves exploring new places. Deepu is passionate about
climate action and environmental justice for the planet.
