CHRISTIANITY
1. What is your chosen religious ritual about?
In Christianity, worship is the act of attributing reverent honor and homage to God. In the new
testament, various words are used to refer to the term worship. One is proskuneo ( To worship)
which means to bow down to God our Father.

2. Describe your observation and experiences during the religious ritual

In prayer, Christians lift their minds and hearts to God. There are many different kinds of prayer,
including: ADORATION- praising god for his greatness and admitting dependence on him.
THANKSGIVING-thanking God for his many blessings ( health or children). A good example of the
difference can be seen in the communion bread and wine preparatory rituals in Christian
churches. During the ritual in those Protestant denominations that perform it, the bread and
wine used are believed to be affected to a degree but not fundamentally changed by the ritual.

3. Why do you think the community believes in the ritual?

They believe that by worshipping their sins are reduced. Through prayer they are able to make
their request and apology to god, giving thanks for all the blessings they receive.

4. How does it affect the members of the community?

Baptism is significant and extremely important for both the individual and for the community.
Historically, it has been the main determining factor who is Christian. Unlike Judaism with its
surgical statements of circumcision, Christianity presented a cleansing and rebirth approach to
the new covenant of Jesus.

Significant for the individual.

Baptism is significant and extremely important for the individual because it shows that the individual( or
the parents of the individual for infant baptism) desire to follow the example set by Jesus in his own
baptism by john. It follows the command or directly of Jesus, as show in Matthew 28:18-19 and it’s a
public message of faith to the rest of the community.
