Course Description:

This course aims to assist students to develop an understanding of organisations in


order to be able to manage and design organisations in a complex, changing world. This
course provides frameworks from which students can form a critical, holistic view of
organisational processes and the impact these have on organisation members.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course the students will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the practical relevance of the theoretical


paradigms surrounding organisation design (LO1)
• Exhibit an awareness of the key contemporary issues in organisation design and
theory (LO2)
• Understand the determinants affecting organisation structure and design (LO3)
• Understand Organisational Culture (LO4)
• Explain Change Management (LO5)
• Know Organisational Learning and Transformation (LO6)

Pedagogy
Entire course will be taught through lectures, case studies (text, audio visual), role plays,
audio video clippings and management games. Whole course will be dealt at three
levels individual, group and organisation

and organizing ideas and conclusions and communicating them effectively in the form of paper
c) To apply the concept learnt in the class
