Fig. 2: Faceplate2
Fig. 1: Back covers_
• Remove the upper rear cover of the object table assembly. The cover fits tightly and
may be slightly jammed by the bellows; remove it carefully by slowly lifting the front.
• Remove the metal cover from above the detector main cable connector. This cover is
fixed with two Allen screws M3 x; remove them, see (1/Fig. 3 / p. 8).
• Push the connector of the detector main cable out under the right longitudinal rail see
(1/Fig. 5 / p. 8) and (1/Fig. 6 / p. 8).
• Unscrew the six screws (1/Fig. 8 / p. 9) of the base plate of the detector housing.
• Carefully lift up the base plate. In order to this, the flying wing lever (2/Fig. 8 / p. 9) has
to be raised a little.
• Place the base plate onto the bottom of the detector, as shown in (1/Fig. 9 / p. 9). Pay
attention to the cables, they shouldn’t get damaged !
Unplug the connectors
• Unplug the connectors: J3 (1/Fig. 10 / p. 9), J6A (2/Fig. 10 / p. 9), J7 (3/Fig. 10 / p. 9),
J6 (4/Fig. 10 / p. 9), J5 (5/Fig. 10 / p. 9) und J3 (6/Fig. 10 / p. 9).
• Remove the cable holder with the ferrite cores (1/Fig. 12 / p. 10).
Fig. 13: Remove old detector cable Fig. 14: New detector cable
• Pull the old detector cable downwards through the cable outlet, see (1/Fig. 13 / p. 10).
• Bend the detector cable around the cable holder, as shown in (2/Fig. 17 / p. 11).
• Position the cable along the edge of the board (Fig. 18 / p. 12).
• Use a cable strap to fix the cable of the connector J6/ J7, see (1/Fig. 19 / p. 12).
Fig. 21: Turn swivel arm Fig. 22: Detector base plate
• Remount the base plate of the detector housing, see (Fig. 21 / p. 13).
• Screwing on the detector cover with the six screws, see (1/Fig. 22 / p. 13).
• Insert the detector cable (1/Fig. 23 / p. 13) underneath the grid holder
(1/Fig. 24 / p. 13).
• Place the Distance plate (if available) between the two genders (plug and receptacle) of
the connectors X608, see (Fig. 25 / p. 14) and connect the detector cable to the cable
coming out of the wing (2/Fig. 26 / p. 14).
• Turn the actuating screw until there is no gap between the distance plate and the plug.
• Check that the pins on the connectors haven’t been pushed back.
• Mount the new metal cover over the detector cable using 2 screws, see
(1/Fig. 27 / p. 14). Make sure that no cables are pinched.
• Mount the bottom wing cover with 6 screws (2/Fig. 28 / p. 14).
• Mount the top wing cover with 4 screws (1/Fig. 28 / p. 14). The cover fits tightly and may
be slightly jammed by the bellows; place it carefully by slowly lifting the front.
NOTE For the Novation S: Insert the two faceplates into the mag
table holes, see (Fig. 29 / p. 15) and push them in
(Fig. 30 / p. 15). Caution: Because of tight fitting, the inser-
tion will require some force.
Test exposures 0
Test exposures
• Switch ON the system and perform some test exposures to make sure the system
works fine.
The test exposures - customary after any interference with the system by the CSE, should
be performed as an evidence of the fact that the system is being handed over from the CSE
to the operator good in working conditions.
Disposal information 0
The old detector cable should be disposed off in a manner complying withthe rules of envi-
ronmental protection and waste disposal.
