Dear Grace Foundation Members and Friends,

I send you greetings from the Grace Foundation of Taylors Island. After two years of the virus
pandemic, we are finally scheduling an annual meeting in 2022. I hope each of you have escaped the virus
with no major health problems and can attend this year’s meeting.

Throughout the virus pandemic, the Grace Foundation has remained active carrying out its
mission - helping preserve the history of Taylors Island through constant research and documentation
and maintaining in first class condition the historic properties under our control. The properties we own
and maintain include the Bethlehem Church and its cemetery, the Grace Church and its cemetery, the
Chaplain Memorial Church, the Chapel of Ease, the Old Schoolhouse (which is the oldest existing
original school in Dorchester County), the Becky Phipps Cannon from the War of 1812, and the Old
Lane Church African American Cemetery located behind the Bethlehem Church. All of these are
accessible to the public and the churches are available for appropriate functions.

Our Trustee and Webmaster, Michael Geleta, is not only a talented computer person but lives on
Taylors Island and loves the Island’s history. Please take time to look at the website he maintains for us
at www.gracefound.net . You will be amazed at the amount of information already on the site, and Mike
is constantly adding new items. Mike is also planning a book to contain the information collected.

We are always interested in knowing more about any families having ancestors who were on
Taylors Island or James Island. Taylors Island and James Island were once physically connected and
share much of our local history. We welcome any family history you may wish to share -- some may even
find its way onto our website.

Our sound financial condition is due to annual membership dues and donations from members.
Please consider naming the Grace Foundation as a beneficiary in your wills and/or insurance policies.
Those actions would help assure our ability to continue to maintain our historic properties and continue
to collect and document the history of Taylors Island.

Enclosed you will find a current membership list and your annual dues notice. Life Members pay
no dues, but donations are always welcome.

The 2022 Annual Meeting of the Grace Foundation of Taylors Island is scheduled for May 22,
2022 at 12:00 Noon. There will be a short business meeting, then our traditional religious service
followed by a luncheon at the local Fire Company.

A list of Officers and Trustees proposed for election at this meeting is enclosed.

Sincerely yours,

John S. "Pat" Neild, Jr., Chairman of the Trustees
