MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN

GLOBALIZATION, PARTICULARLY TO SUPPORT INVESMENT IN
DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Multi-dimensional changes and globalization have brought various influences and impacts on
developing countries, especially in Southeast Asian countries. These countries are: Cambodia,
Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The countries mentioned above
are one of the favorite destinations for Multinational Corporations (MNCs) to invest their capital
resources, due to low labor costs, easy access to natural resources and most importantly, as a
market to distribute their products. the main goal of MNCs is to maximize global profits and all
their actions are aimed at achieving that main goal, and not to develop the country in which they
invest. There are 5 aspects that must be considered and by MNCs, “1) freedom of association, 2)
bargaining and collective negotiation, 3) transparency on the part of MNCs, 4) resolving
problems collectively deliberation, and 5) all terms and regulations related to health problems
and safety at work”.
