PROJECT PROPOSAL

PROJECT TITLE: IMPLEMENTATION OF BANKING MANGEMENT

SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

Banking is defined as the business activity of accepting and safeguarding

money owned by individual or entities, and the lending out this money in order

to conduct economic activities such as making profit or simply covering

operating expenses. A bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposit

and make loans. Two of the most common types of banks are commercial and

investment banks. Depending on type, a bank may also provide various

financial services ranging from providing sage deposit boxes and currency

exchange to retirement and wealth management.

Survey also indicates that approximately less 10 million Ghanaian households

and 5 million individuals were underbanked, which means that the household

hand an account at an insured institution but also obtained products or services

outside of the banking system.

But why is this important? Because those who are underbanked or unbanked are

hindering their financial lives from enjoying services that lead to financial well-

being. Many must resort to services outside the banking system to cash out
checks or borrow loans and incur higher transaction fees and interest

unnecessarily.

BACKGROUND STUDY

Bank account management system keeps the day-to-day tally record as a

complete banking system. It keeps the information of Account type, account

opening form, Deposit fund Withdrawal and searching the transaction,

transaction reports, individual account opening form. The existing part of this

project is it display transaction reports.

The “Bank Account Management System project is a model internet banking

Site. This site enables the customer to perform the basic banking transaction by

sitting at their offices or at home through PC or laptop. The system provides the

access to the customer to create an account, deposit, withdraw the cash from his

account, also view report of all account present.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The traditional way of maintain details of a user in a ban was to enter the details

and record them. Every time the user needs to perform some transaction he or

she has to go to bank and perform the necessary action, which may not be so

feasible all the time. It may be a hard-hitting task for the user and the bankers

too. The project gives real life understanding of online banking system and
activities performed by various roles in the supply chain. This will provide

automation for banking system through internet. This project gives real life

understanding of banking system and activities performed by various roles in

the supply chain.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The main aim and objectives of developing the banking Management system

are as follows;

 To develop a software program for managing the entire banking process

related to administration account, customer account and to keep each an

every track about their various transaction

 Customer satisfaction, client can do this operation comfortably without

any risk of his or her privacy.

 Saving customer time, client doesn’t have to waste time at the bank.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The scope of the Bank Management System extends to all existing all the user

who eish for easy banking facilities. The software will be used for storing user’s

account information and the transactions made by the clients.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS

The functional and non-functional system requirement are described

Functional Requirements

The functional requirement of the systems is;

 User login, use pin

 Creating and opening of new account registration

 View statements transaction

 Change of forgotten passwords and pin

 User account details

Non-functional Requirements

Non-functional requirement are requirement that are not directly concerned with

the specific functions delivered by the system. They may relate to emergent

system properties such as reliability, response time and store occupancy. They
may specify system performance, security, availability, and other emergent

properties. System user can usually find ways to work around a system function

that doesn’t really meet the needs. Non-functional requirements needed in this

banking system are identified as performance requirement, safety requirement,

security requirements and software quality attributes.

SYSTEM DESIGN

The banking Management System design are grouped into the following

categories. These are;

 Performance

 Dependability

 Maintenance

 End user Criteria

IMPLEMENTATION

Programming tools

The system will be interacting and connected to a database application. There

are the windows application and web application. The windows application is
developed using Java, which is one of the development languages and is object

oriented. The web application is develop using PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is

widely used in open-source general purpose scripting language that is suited for

web development and be embedded into HTML and also APACHE.

SOFTWARE INTERFACE

The software interface of the Banking Management System is supported by the

main panels and operating system in which hosts the algorithms for calculating

distributed travel and wait time information. The software shall be capable of

interfacing with software simulator on PC using GUI application of webpages.
