“Build a new restaurant in a neighborhood” means a construction will start, an also a new

member will be added to current restaurants, which is at least more than one in the
neighborhood. Perhaps there might be a few benefits, but think of the environment
problems and more traffic it might generate to the community, I would not support the plan.

One of the problems would affect the neighborhood environment is that restaurant building
construction will produce noise, dust and unpleasant smell which could even be harmful.
People who live nearby would have to endure it until the end of the construction;
vulnerable person, like elders and children probably get hurt.
Some would argue that the construction process will end eventually, so there is no need to
worry. Which I think it is absolutely different, for if someone’s health does get hurt, how
can we fix it by ending the construction afterward?
The other environment problem is sanitation. Catering services always produce lots of
wastes. More restaurants mean more kitchen wastes will be generated. The neighborhood
might not be capable enough of disposing of it. Not to mention the troublesome living
beings, such as mousses and cockroaches may find themselves a new wonderland.
In addition, a new restaurant would cause more traffic to the neighborhood by its business
activities. For example, it is common that a more than average amount of people might
come for the new cuisine, especially when there is an opening discount offering to them by
the new restaurant. This will lead to more traffic to the surrounding area. Besides, a
restaurant would like to site itself near the main road of the neighborhood, where almost
every neighbor’s cars will pass through to back home, to catch as many attentions as they
could.

In sum, compared with the foregoing aspects. Build a new restaurant in a residential or
colony, is really not an acceptable plan. Maybe some places outside the community, like
business streets would be better.
